The Tara-Leeway Heights Civic Association vigilantly pursues & supports neighbors in achieving successful local projects.
Harrison St sidewalk
In March 2026, the civic association endorsed a homeowner petition for the County to design a sidewalk on Harrison St from 16th St to Big Walnut Park.
18th St & Patrick Henry 4-way Stop
In Spring 2024, the County made this intersection a 4-way stop after years of Civic Association advocacy to make it happen.
Sidewalks on 15th St
In late 2024, the County added sidewalks on 15th St from Inglewood to Kenilworth after years of neighbor activism & Civic Association help.
Cardinal Elementary School
The Civic Association coordinated & conveyed feedback on the plans for the new Cardinal school and its boundaries.
Flood mitigation
The Civic Association worked with neighbors & the County in fashioning a "stormwater detention vault" to help prevent future flooding.
Flood response
After the terrible floods of 2019, the Civic Association engaged the County on ways to improve its stormwater management.
